Samples box from Dust Free Hay

Hi readers! Dust Free Hay kindly sent me a sample box to review.

What is it?
It is a sample box with all 4 different types of hay that Dust Free Hay sell.

What is in it?
It has a decent size sample of each type of hay.

  1. Soft
  2. Stalky
  3. US Timothy
  4. UK Timothy
How much is it?
It is £14.48 and the weight is approx 1.5kg.

What do I think?
This is a great box to get if you aren't sure what hay your small pets will like. There was no dust in the hay and you get a good amount of hay if you only have a couple of small pets. The sampls only lasted a couple of days with my 4 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits.

What did my small furries think?
The guinea pigs definitely preferred the soft hay and the timothy hays over the stalky hay but the rabbits really liked the stalky hay and the timothy hay.

You can buy this box here

Coachies training treats: natural treats with chicken

Hi readers! The Company of Animals sent me some of their new and improved Coachies training
treats to review.

What are coachies?
Coachies are wheat free, oven baked dog treats for training dogs over 8 weeks old.

What is in them?
Poultry meal (27.5%), Oats (19%), Rice (14%), Glycerine, Yoghurt, Rapeseed oil(2.5%), Minerals (calcium carbonate 0.4%).

How much are they?
They are £1.19 for 75g and £2.49 for 200g from Fetch.

What do I think?
These are great treats. They are nice and small and great for training. I have tried them with the Alsatian, Mutty, at the farm. Mutty is quite fussy but she really likes these. Angel also liked them and so far they haven't upset her stomach.

HALTI training lead

Hi readers! The Company of Animals kindly sent me some of their products to review. I was very excited to receive their training lead as I had been wanting to get it for a long time.

What is it?
The halti training lead is a double ended lead, mainly used with a HALTI headcollar or harness. It has metal rings along it for easy length adjustment and to use it in many different ways.

How many ways can you use it?

  1. Long with handle
  2. One big loop
  3. One end on harness, other end on collar
  4. One end on front harness ring, other end on front harness ring
  5. One end on headcollar, other end on collar
  6. In a loop over your shoulder and over chest
How much does it cost?
It is £15 from Pets At Home

What do I think?
This lead is so versatile and is so much nicer than normal leads as it is very soft on your hands (it feels cushioned). The only downside is that if you use it when it rains the water really soaks in (I may of got caught in the rain whilst using it...) but it did dry reasonably quickly.

Would I buy it again?
I would definitely buy another one of these if I needed too.

Beetroot and Parsnip (30g)
Carrot (50g)

What do I think?
This is a brilliant box for anyone looking to try different natural forage with their guinea pigs. It is also suitable for rabbits which is great. It isn't expensive in comparison to other boxes made for rabbits and guinea pigs and the fact shipping is free is fantastic.

Would I buy it again?
I would definitely buy it again and I am planning on trying some of their other boxes in the future.

NEW AND IMPROVED Halti Headcollar

Hi readers! The Company Of Animals kindly sent me some products to review after they saw my review of their old halti headcollar. This is my honest opinion of the new and improved headcollar. I am not being paid or anything to review this.

What has been improved on the headcollar?
It has a new design for no pulling and better control over your dog. It is lightweight and has a fully padded noseband which has a reflective strip at the front. Just like the old version it has a safety link to attach to your dogs collar. The first thing I noticed when I took the headcollar out of the packaging was that the part that tightens to stop the dog pulling is a full loop round rather than just straight up the dogs face. I personally thing this is a great change and is kinder to the dogs face.

What do I think of the improvements?
The improvements personally haven't changed much about the headcollar. The noseband is definitely better padded and the reflective strip is a great addition. It still stops Angel pulling and she still doesn't like having it put on (she doesn't like wearing her harness either).

I use the halti whenever I walk her and it really does help with her pulling. I would really recommend this to anyone whose dog pulls.

Carrot Crate: Bunny Valentine

Hi readers! Carrot Crate very kindly sent me their Bunny Valentine box to review.

This toy didn't last long!

What is it?
Carrot Crate do subscription boxes for rabbits that could also be used for guinea pigs if you had both(Like me).

How much does it cost?
Carrot Crates are £18 for a one month, £17.50 a month for a three month and £16 a month for a 6 month. You can also buy previous boxes at £18 a box.

What is in the Bunny Valentine box?

  • 3 x heart-beets from The WellKept Rabbit.
  • Strawberry and Raspberry from BunnyBitesUK
  • Forage bag from Healthier Hops
  • Hessian Heart hanging stuffed toy from Dried Delights
  • Binky Bell Toy from The Binky Shop
It was all in a cardboard box that they will get to play with.

What do I think?
This is a great box for rabbits and you do get a good variety of natural treats and toys. It is on the slightly expensive side but it is worth the money for what you get. My rabbits aren't normally intrested in toys but loved the Binky Bell Toy and it lasted only around a hour.

Would I buy it again?
I would probably buy it to share between the guinea pigs and the rabbits as it is quite expensive to just get it for the rabbits.

Natures own sweet green hay cookies

Hi readers! I got these for my guinea pigs the other week so I thought I would review them.

What are they?
They are compressed hay cookies for guinea pigs and rabbits.

What is in them?
They are 100% sweet green hay.

How much are they?
They are £2.99 in the range (you cannot buy them online) and £3.99 from NATURES OWN.

What do I think?
These are brilliant. My rabbits weren't very keen on them but they aren't particularly keen on hay. The guinea pigs really love them and get them regularly as part of their diet.

Would I buy them again?
I will definitely be buying more of these for the guinea pigs soon as they absolutely love them.
